TARLEE & DAVID

WEDDING

Weddings are a challenge for me. I’m not sure why, but my anxiety is usually out of control whenever I do one. Admittedly, I wasn’t initially hired to photograph this wedding. This couple came to me early last year after they got engaged & I was lucky enough to worked with them to create their invitations over at my sister page Tickled Ink. It wasn’t until their booked photographer & a fellow friend Rebecca Scharber Photography came to me asking me if I’d second-shoot that I became an official part of their day. I was really excited! I loved the prospect of working alongside Rebecca & my videographer friend Brady – Infinity Films and of course this cool cat couple.

My day started at the Hair Lair where the girls were getting their hair & make up done by Aleesha. My job was to capture some candid shots of these ladies. Easy. Tarlee surrounds herself with women who are fun & easy going & made the morning super enjoyable.

David & Tarlee decided that the Maritime Gardens was the perfect place for their wedding – a semi-secluded spot on the outskirts of town surrounded by lush garden & trees, & well known by the Whyalla locals. The lovely suppliers over at Exclusive Bridal Hire had set up the perfectly styled ceremony marquee & guest seating. Mother nature hosted the day with warm, sunny winter weather, which chilled considerably towards sundown.

Every wedding is amazing, but I loved every minute of this day. The navy & rose gold styling, the friendly vendors, the cheerful family dynamic & this gorgeous go-with-the-flow couple. Many of the shots throughout the day were a collaboration between Rebecca, Brady & I, a.k.a. ‘the dream team’! Bec has a seamless & fun workflow so that she doesn’t miss a shot. Brady immortalises all the little details & heartwarming emotion in film & I have a knack for the more candid, & bringing along the confetti & fairy lights!!

I’m so grateful that these few people were happy to have me along for the ride.

Here’s just a few of my favourite moments of Tarlee & David’s day.
