PAIGE

FAMILY NEWBORN PORTRAITS

When people you’re really close to have kids, it’s kind of like they gave birth to your own child. Your heart beats almost the same for their kids, as it does your own. Well mine does. My best friend & soon to be maid of honor, just had her second bub. We don’t live in Whyalla together anymore, which can suck sometimes, but when we see each other, it’s always like no time has passed.

I left my kids in the capable hands of their dad to go see her & her rugrats after Paige was born. I miss the routine of life when I’m away from my family, but I embraced the freedom & time with my friend, helping her out any way I could while she adjusted to life with two. We were super lucky that the week I visited was also a week of good health for miss Paige. She had spent the days prior in hospital, and a couple weeks following my visit, due to a virus she picked up that left her really unwell. Thankfully today, all looks well & she is thriving. I’m grateful for that slice of time with Sara, because the next time I see her, her kids will have doubled in size and milestones. That’s the way it is now. We get bite size chunks of each others lives & savour them all the same.

I’m always proud of my friend. She knows me better than I know myself sometimes & I love that we can have a completely honest conversation about our triumphs & flaws, but there is never any judgement between us. I have so much respect for her & her take on the world, & she knows I will always offer my experience & support whenever she needs it on her parenting journey; When I can’t offer advice, at the very least I know I’ll be able to offer my photo skills.

Much love to this little family. Miss Paige, I will enjoy watching you grow!
