I’m Skai. Visual artist, story-teller & hot mess mumma to a teen, tween & an infant.

I’m so lucky to be able to spend my work days living, dreaming, creating timeless memories & purposeful imagery for others.

I believe in capturing this life Earthside in an raw, honest, uncluttered way, bathed in beautiful light & surrounded by nature’s finest details. I truly feel that the best photos are the humblest & most natural, from the tiny toes of a newborn baby, to the sweeping embrace of a parents loving arms; the mighty, scattered giggles of a boisterous child & the soft, hollowed wrinkles of the aged. This is what I aim to capture.

It’s taken me a long while to figure out how I want to show up in the world. Photography allows me to connect with others on a people-centric & purposeful level. Motherhood lit the fire that carries my heart on this journey of visual storytelling. I am the creative for those that don’t want the cheese. Just real, honest, human moments, and gorgeous memories of a precious past. My style is rich & emotive. I create in realism & romanticism, using movement, childhood & play to guide my shots.

The Niven Boyd Memorial Award is a customer service based award. Nominations for exceptional service & subsequent votes come from the local community. The award is given to the nominee with the most votes.

AIPP Accredited Professional 2014-2021

To become an Accredited Professional Photographer with the AIPP you had to go through the rigorous process of having your images judged by a panel of Professional image makers, for technical & professional ability.

You also need to provide documentation that shows you have invested time & resources into developing a professional standard of business, that has been earning an income for at least two years.

The AIPP holds accredited members to a professional code of conduct, with ongoing skills development, legal contracting, copyright & privacy information, & input into the tertiary education of those entering the industry. They were the leading body for professional practice until they went into administration in late 2021, after 75years service to the photographic community.

I was accredited from 2014 – until their fold in 2021.
