Wilsdon Family

FAMILY NEWBORN STUDIO SESSION

PLAYFORD AVENUE, WHYALLA SA

If you didn’t know me personally, you might be surprised to learn that I am the eldest of 7! My family is very much of the blended variety, so I also have a couple of half siblings on top of that whom I didn’t grow up with.

When I take photos of big families, not only do those shots instantly feel complete to me, but I’m reminded of what it’s like to share a space with so many different personalities & ages. I’m reminded of how chaotic & joyful Christmas’ felt. I’m reminded of every time we had to sacrifice our hours or our family income to ensure everyone had what they needed, not necessarily what they wanted. I’m reminded of how few ‘nice’ family photos we were able to get over our youthful years & how precious they have each become now we’re all adults.

This is the second time I’ve been able to capture the fullness of this family. Each time I’ve been met with joy & complete calm, despite the fact that it’s been hardly a year since we captured Clara’s newborn photos, & her newest little sister Alora hasn’t had the easiest start to life.

Alora had spent some time in surgery & the NICU in Adelaide prior to being able to come see me. She has a lifetime of management for her health ahead but that didn’t stop her & her family from filling my frame with smiles & sibling snuggles.
